Getting the most out of a DNA test

Postby DocRock » Fri May 31, 2019 5:53 pm

Hi

I recently got my results back from Ancestry DNA, and just wondered if there any tips on how to get the most out of it?

I know absolutely nothing about these things, a complete novice

There have been a number of sessions at Rootstech on DNA. Rootstech is a family history conference run by FamilySearch.
"Watch Past Sessions of RootsTech". The years available are 2015-2019.

If you click on Rootstech Sessions, you can pick out the DNA sessions, and watch the video presentations

This is a great read for absolute beginners: http://donnarutherford.com/put-the-kett ... bies-only/

Here’s the first in a series of seven presentations that I found really useful: https://thednageek.com/science-the-heck ... na-part-1/ (Links to the other parts are at the end.)

Once you’re ready for a book then this one is excellent - I keep returning to it and learning more each time.
