There's a 1909 death for a John Munt (see below). Having said that, Mary's 1906 death cert indicates she was the "widow" of John Munt. Could the informant have been wrong?

Name: John Munt
Estimated birth year: abt 1835
Registration Year: 1909
Registration Quarter: Apr-May-Jun
Age at Death: 74
Registration district: Hitchin
Volume: 3a

Hi
Thanks for the reply

I have the death certificate ( see below) of this John Munt who died in 1909
I don’t think it’s the correct John though ...

Thanks

The 1909 death cert you posted would appear to be your John Munt. The Maiden Street address is the same as wife Mary's. The occupation (bricklayer) is a match, too. What's curious is why Mary was described as "widow" on her death certificate.

Hi
Yes I am certain it’s the correct John Munt on the death certificate
Everything else ties up ok
Address , occupation

Very strange that Mary was described as a “widow” on her death certificate though ....??

Did they separate? Mary explains his absence by telling everyone he'd died while working away, her death is then registered as 'widow' and either by coincidence or because he'd been told, John then returns to the house. Or should I be writing for soap operas?
