Alexander Lang Strang

I've been unable to trace any record of Alexander before his marriage in Manchester in 1945 to Grace Tate.

I know he was a consulate official in San Salvador by the time his son was born in 1948 but other than appearing on his son's marriage certificate in 1975 he's completely invisible.

Can anyone have better luck at finding him than me? Birth? Death? Location?

Now found his death - El Salvador. The registration gives a year of birth as 1891 and age at death of 64 but I'm still looking for him prior to his marriage in Manchester in 1945.

In August 1947 there is Alexander Strang, 22, born Scotland Glasgow, and Grace Strang, 22, born England Manchester, on the Aquitania from Southampton, with Mary Strang, 1.

Possibly Alexander Laing Strang born 1924, Hillhead (ScotlandsPeople)

The manifest gives name of Alexander's father in law - Mr J Tate, with an address in Manchester. And his father is Mr A Strang, in San Salvador, El Salvador.

Might be more sightings of young Alexander with his parents Alexander and Mary in Florida, Key West Passenger Lists, 1898-1945 (on FamilySearch)
Strange in 1927?

Is Annie Laing with the Strangs on this one from 1930?

Possible marriage?
1920, Anderston

Wow - thanks Ianbee. You've had more success with Family Search and Scotland's people than I did!

So that now looks as if the Alexander Strang whose death is recorded in El Salvador, 1955 - 60, is the father of Alexander Lang Strang which makes more sense with the ages. I hadn't thought that through - otherwise he'd have been 30 years older than his wife.

All those other sightings seem logical so I'll investigate further.
