Charles Tilly missing baptism

Postby Will Mundy » Sun Mar 31, 2019 11:26 am

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help me trace one of my ancestors from the North Nibley area in Gloucestershire. Charles Tilly married a Catherine Sinegar in 1757 in North Nibley Catherine was born in 1738 in North Nibley. I can’t find out when Charles was born and there seems to be no Tilly’s in the area at that time, he was a weaver and had several children in North Nibley. I can’t find when he died or when he was born, does anybody have any ideas?

Any help would be much appreciated

There's this January 1735/36 baptism for a Charles (and Randolph), no surname that I can see. They are the first baptism under January. "Two ? brothers, inhabitants of this parish".

Name: Charles
Event Type: Baptism
Baptism Date: 1 Jan 1735
Baptism Place: Cam, Gloucestershire, England
Parish as it Appears: Cam

There were a few Tillys in North Nibley in the 1700's: Jane and John Tilly, and Joseph and Sarah Tilly, had around 10 children between them from 1719-1741, but I can't see a Charles.
I used www.dustydocs.com and chose Gloucestershire, then North Nibley, but there are other Glocs parishes on the search list.
