Finding a grave

Postby Su Cooper » Mon Jan 28, 2019 8:41 am

Good Morning,

Can anyone give advice on how to find burial details for an Asylum patient?

Harold John Kiddle (b1894) was sent to the Devizes County Asylum in Sept 1914 from the Warminster Union Workhouse. He died there in Apr 1915. His medical records and post-mortem report are held at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre. However there is no record whatsoever of his burial place, despite the fact there was a burial site at the Asylum. Harold died weighing only 4 and a half stone.

I have tried local history sites, specialists in the History Centre, all the usual websites but cannot find anything. Can anyone help please?

Many thanks.
