Marriage John Slaymaker c1765 in Berkshire

Postby katebenn » Thu Jan 24, 2019 4:24 pm

I'm trying to find the marriage c1765 of John Slaymaker (Slamaker) to a Mary propably in Berkshire.
John was baptised 9 Sep 1731 in Binfield, Berks
Their 1st child Esther was baptised 6 Sep 1767 Little Wittenham, Berkshire as were a further 7 children.
I don't know any other details such as deaths or occupations.
Any pointers in the right direction??

Do you have any birth or baptism details for this John or who his parents were?

Did John & Eastor (Esther) Slaymaker have a 2nd John born after John 1 died in 1731?

Hi Kate - which sites have you been checking? It's a good thing for everyone to know so that research isn't duplicated. I found the records above on FMP. There were quite a few parish records for Slaymaker's on there. From memory, there was also a 1777 (?) marriage record between a John Slimmaker and a Mary Bedford in the Oxford/Berkshire area.

Hi Mo,
I use Ancestry & have been looking up some refs using IGI - don't have FMP. I realise that for Berkshire FMP would probably solve many of my questions.

Sorry, Kate. I checked FMP again and didn't find any other parish records for John Slaymaker (1744-1811); nor any baptism records for a later John born to John and Esther Slaymaker after 1731.
