death Alice Hibbard b1882

Postby katebenn » Mon Jan 14, 2019 4:01 pm

I can't find a death for Alice Hibbard b1882 in Idlicote, Warwickshire that fits into the info I have about her - she was considered a 'black sheep' of the family
Hibbard can also be Hibberd / Hibbert / Hibbord / Hibbort

The last ref I can locate is 1911 cenus aged 28 at Stratford on Avon Workhouse with children Elsie & Frederick Hibbard, both base born

She had another BB son in Albert Ernest Plummer Hibbard in 1903 who was with his grandparents in 1911 - we assume Plummer may have been the father

Any help or ideas will be much appreciated

There is a 1955 obituary for "Albert Ernest Hibbard" in the "Banbury Guardian" on Findmypast. Mentions a bunch of relatives but no mother or siblings. I think he married Marie Capp in 1926. Don't know if the certificate might mention if his mother was living or not?

There was also a Frederick Hibbard married to Eileen Rayland in 1944 in Warwick, Warwickshire. Don't know if he's the right one, though, as I can't find him in the 1939 census.

Yes, this is certainly him - however I don't have a sub to Findmypast. Albert's death registration is Stratford on Avon RD though I know this doesn't rule out he living nearer to Banbury area than this suggets.
Wife Marie died 1971 in Warwick RD
Thanks for help

I'm afraid the image is copywrited or I would share.
It mentions a Mrs. A. Church (Aunt) and a Mr. E. Hibbard (Uncle).

Thanks - Mrs A Church is mother's sister Helen married name to Arthur Church
Mr E Hibbard is Edward Clarence Hibbard 1892 - 1968; Albert's mother's brother
This suggests that his mother had died by 1955
