Help with surname in marriage

Postby Simon45 » Sun Jan 06, 2019 9:12 pm

Hi
Thanks for the reply

I was going to just check on the censuses of 1841/51 in same area to see if it had been transcribed correctly ?
( Elizabeth hopefully had brothers that lived on and were on 1841 or 1851 censuses )

As wanted to find Elizabeth’s baptism / birth in 1796-98
- as she died in 1874 aged 77

The surname Turnadge could also be a variation of Turnage (which appears to be a common surname in Essex). I don't know if Elizabeth had any brothers, but one of the marriage witnesses is a Sarah Turnadge. Is she Elizabeth's mother or a sister?

In addition to Ancestry, FMP, and Family Search, don't forget to check FreeReg. It is free and is a great source for parish records.

Their youngest son from the 1841 census (assuming it's the same Richard & Elizabeth Wren):
