There was a William Field in Taston, Spelsbury in the 1841 census, age 70, born Oxfordshire, with another William Field, age 10, born Oxfordshire.

I assume the second William is William Henry Field, born in Taston, who married Elizabeth, according to later censuses.

Also in 1841, a Benjamin Field, born between 1808-1811 in Taston, was living in Spelsbury with his wife, Sarah. They had a daughter, Sarah, born around 1843 in Spelsbury according to the censuses.

Hi, This must be him; William died 1845 in Taston; wife had died in 1836;
William age 10 is a grandson who went on to marry Elizabeth Merry in 1854 where no father is given on m certificate as he was the BBs/o a daughter, Elizabeth b1804 - I haven't located her in 1841 though!
Benjamin is a s/o William Snr
Thanks for this,
Kate
