Eliza DANIELS

According to the 1939 Register, Eliza DANIELS was born 06 Sep 1860. I quote the 1939 Register as I can't locate an appropriate birth certificate.

I believe the same child was baptised at St John's, Holloway on 29 Sep 1860, wrongly transcribed as DANIELLS. Her parents were Charles DANIELLS, a labourer, and Eliza DANIELLS, who presumably are Charles DANIELS and his wife Eliza DANIELS (née GAME). The family were living at 4 Red Cap Cottages, Islington.

The strange thing is that she is not with the family in the 1861 census, though all the other children (George, William, Sarah, Ellen and Charles) are present.

By the time of the 1871 census, Eliza (19) is back in the fold, living at Cromwell Road, Islington with her mother and siblings. Her father is away working with his brother in Diss, Norfolk.

Ideally I would like to locate a birth certificate for my 2 Great Aunt and find out where she was in 1861. Was she ill?

I can't see a registration , however the baptism date is 1861 , not 1860. Eliza probably wasn't born until after the census was taken in April 1861.

Having looked at the image, you are right. Its not a very clear character, but it is 1861.

However, on the 1939 Register it does say 1860, which probably results from confusion on her part.
