Research Logs

Postby baboon281 » Tue Oct 02, 2018 7:35 am

I am looking for ways to record what research I have done, be it successful or more importantly unsuccessful. Does anyone have any recommendations of electronic logs they use and what people actually record on their Research Logs.

I keep the succesful results in PAF (any genealogical software is fine for that)
For research Work In Progress I write that in Excel. Generations stepped back, different colours - blCk for succesful, red for mot yrt validated blue for wrong unsuccesful leads (so I don't repeat the work!). I also draw my charts in Powerpoint so I can add notes in different colours.

Thanks fhb. I posted the question hoping that there may have been a generic research log program somewhere online. From the searches I’ve done and your reply it appears that I will have to construct my own.
