Australian BIRTHS

Postby nuttree » Sat Sep 01, 2018 10:40 am

Is there any way on line to see Australian births showing the names of the father and mother (partitularly her maiden name)
Several trees on an..try show someone who is on my tree as marrying in Australia changing his name and having several children under the new name. I want to find if this is right. The Australian marriage was bigamous and does appear to be correct no father's name was given but his mother's name was and that matches with the person on my tree but after that everything is for a man with a completely different name. The paernts of the suggested children would go along way to prove or discount the theory of a name change.
children concerned:
Amelia Mary MILLER 1861
Rose MILLER 1863
Louisa MILLER 1865
William George MILLER 1867
Alfred Edward MILLER 1869
Mabel May MILLER 1872
plus 4 more
Hope someone can help sort this strange one out.

Australian BMDs are searchable by state. Google NSWbmd, Vicbmd, etc. the early records - pre 1910 or so usually have parents recorded.

There is a National Library of Australia Guide "Australian Birth, Death And Marriage Records"
https://www.nla.gov.au/research-guides/ ... ge-records

As genie tragic has said, the records are state based.
