O'BRIEN, CATHERINE KENNY
GRO Reference: 1873 S Quarter in MANCHESTER Volume 08D Page 266 Order
O'BRIEN, JANE KENNY
GRO Reference: 1871 D Quarter in MANCHESTER Volume 08D Page 274

You can check the GRO.gov.uk online search site for mother's maiden name

Search the workhouse records and the prison records, the nearest address I can get is for Francis in 1878 2 accounts in the Prison records as ?M?Worsley Court Mason Street Manchester

I would have ordered the death cert for JJ's death as this would have given an address closer to the 1881 census!

This is a stab in the dark enquiry re CANTWELL......... I have a James CANTWELL aged 28 yrs and Mary McNamara aged 22 yrs who married in Bristol 24 July 1853... I do not know where James is from but Mary seems to have come from Ireland........ James' father is listed on the marriage certificate as Emund....... Wondering IF he is the Edmund CANTWELL who performed the christening in Lancashire.

James and Mary had a daughter Sarah, my (2xggrandmother) and a son named John.......The family emigrated to Queensland Australia in 1865.....

I am also wondering IF anyone can assist me as to where Sarah the daughter was born as documentation I have shows her being born in three different places in the UK.....The 1861 Census her born Bow London......Her Queensland 1877 Marriage Certificate shows born Lancashire..... The 1886 Queensland birth certificate of Sarah's daughter Mary shows Sarah born Fredegar Monmouth Wales...

Any thoughts on how I can overcome this dilemma will be much appreciated......Sam Queensland Australia
