Bomber Command Memorial

Just been reading the very good article by Rosemary on the unveiling of the new memorial.
One point that might interest people is that the height of the spire is the exact length of the wingspan
of a Lancaster bomber.I live in Lincoln and the spire is very impressive.

I agree Grace the spire is spectacular, and I loved the curved walls containing the names of the fallen . I live locally too, and visited a couple of weeks ago. When the Garden has had a chance to bed in it will be even more special and of course the view of the Cathedral adds to the scene.

They also have their own Family Historian on site who is only too happy to try and help solve any mysteries!

Thanks for your feedback. My brother lives in Lincoln so I will have to visit it next time I’m up.
