Can anyone help with this translation please? It's on a catholic birth record from a large family and she is the only one who has anything else written on besides the standard info. I know who it is and dates etc, would just like to know what other information it gives please. Apologies for the poor quality, I don't have the original.

I can work out some of the details. It begins “On the day of the 26th November the infant girl was brought to the church” and ends “I added the name.” Hopefully someone else can work out the important middle section which I think gives the reason for this event.

I would agree with beacon on what can be read. I cannot fathom out the middle bit either. However, at the very end of the full entry, the words "of imminent mortis ???" (I cannot read it all) have been inserted. I seems possible that Carmen was ill or failing to thrive and was rushed to the church to be baptised before she died - very important for the child. I looked to see if she had died soon after but saw that she lived until1914. I am assuming, of course, that this is the family living in Liverpool that I found.

Yes thank you. It is the correct family. Thanks both. I'll go to the library and try to get a clearer image.

I think the baby was baptised hurriedly on Nov 6th at home “ob imminens mortis periculum” - on account of the danger of imminent death - and was subsequently brought to the church on Nov 26th for the more usual baptism ceremony when the baptism was recorded in the register.
