Luciano Rapol death

Postby Karen196 » Thu Jan 25, 2018 2:07 pm

I'm looking for the death record of my 2x Great Grandfather.

The only documents I have are his marriage record 1887 and catholic marriage record in Liverpool. We believe he was born in Manila approx 1863, I can't find him on any census records but he was a mariner so that may explain it.

Alternative spellings I've seen for his wife are Rapole, Thapole.

On the 1891 census in Liverpool, his wife is living with her parents and their son, he is absent. They went on to have 8 children, the last was born in 1905. Margaret Rapol (formerly Ignatio) remarried as a widow in 1908, so I have looked in Lancashire BMD, GRO index between 1905-1908 to no avail.

Hope someone can help. Thanks

Findmypast shows a death at sea for a Luciano Rapol, storekeeper, born Manila in 1867. He was found dead on board ship supposedly from heart failure on Jan 18th 1906. The ship's name in the transcription is Castano. His last address is given as 22 Frederick Street, Liverpool.

In 1901 census Margaret is living in 22 Frederick Street, sharing with two other families representing two generations of Ignacio families. Mathew the older being 60 born in Manila and Margaret (and children) and the younger Mathew (and his wife) having been born in Liverpool.
