Gustav A. W. Wedderburn Married Clara Doubell SARGENT Newcastle upon Tyne 1st qtr 1908.
In 1911 Clara Wedderburn, Married, no children, is with her brother Frederick John Sargent and his wife Rose in Maida Vale, London.

Where is Gustave?
By 1939 Clara describes herself as a widow, entry in 1939 reg is as Clara Wedderburn, born 7 Oct 1886, but her uncle in a will he wrote in March 1939 named her as Cherrie Sargent.

Gustave seems to spontaneously generate solely to marry Clara and then vanishes just as thoroughly.
There are Wedderburn families in Newcastle U. Tyne, but I cannot see him anywhere. I am sorry I have no idea of the names of any other members of his family nor his age.
Can anyone see him anywhere?

Do you have a copy of the 1908 certificate? This should provide you with his address at the time, his occupation and the name of his father. It might also provide the name of a member of his family as a witness. Using that information might help you further to track him down. If you do have the certificate, could you enlighten us with those details so we can help you.

Hi
Marriage was at Jesmond Clayton Memorial (according to Marriage Locator)
Gustav is indexed as Wetterborn (and as Wetteborn/Wesseborn in the Newcastle indexes)

I wouldn't have thought Gustav was from the UK.
And there is this record pertaining to Clara at TNA
Wetteborn, C D aka Sargent Year of birth 1886
Date: 1932 Jan 01 - 1935 Dec 31
Reference: HO 405/58344
Former reference in its original department: W 2377
Access conditions: Closed For 100 years
Record opening date: 01 January 2036
Closure criterion: Contains sensitive personal information which would substantially distress or endanger a living person or his or her descendants.

Best thing to do is to click on "View the catalogue description for HO 405"

Clara also lived to be nearly a hundred, and left a will, as I'm sure you know.
Fascinating stuff!
