Right ladys and gentalman i have just this second recived the marrige certificate for George and Mrs bootland they were marriade in monk bretton on the 20th Febuary 1910, he was 27 and she was 25 he was a minor (hewer) (dont know which pit would be interesting to find out).

His farther was indeed John Conway his accupation was a shoemaker, her farther was a mathew bootland occupation unknown becouse i can not read the writing she also it also seems she lived at a different place at the tim to George which again i can not read the writing but you mau be able to confirm this.

Now would it be safe to upload the certificate for you to look at as i know this forum is very public and i do worry about privercy. ?

I will also upload the mugshot i mentioned eariler in my post it would be intresting to see if this is the george as i do have to say there is a 100% resembalance to my farther.

I think you can put it on here if nobody living is mentioned on it!
You only need to upload the meaty bit, the actual copy of the marriage itself, not the whole certificate.
If I'm wrong someone will tell us.

Only you? Absolutely not. The other day I worked something out for someone, deciding that their parents were X and Y. After I'd done this, the original poster said, effectively, "That's what a later record said their parents were but I had no idea whether to believe them".

I did breathe a sigh of relief....

Hi guys it has been a while since i have replied on this post. i now believe that John is Georges farther as it is on Georges marriage certificate it also says his farther was indeed a shoemaker.

from the document uploaded below i believe that his mother was in a workhouse in tullimore at the time of Georges birth. but for some strange reason his parents don't seem to be using his first name but in fact his middle name (Patrick)why could this be ? it also looks like his farther John Conway is also not using his first name but in fact using Patrick also why could this be ? i can workout that John is living at a street address this may also be a workhouse through.

Now i am having great difficulty translating the writing and of course the name of the work house if anyone can translate this document for me it would be greatly appreciated.

On 29 Aug 1882
a male named Patrick was born in the Union Workhouse, Tullamore
father, Patrick, lived at Chapel lane, Tullamore,
mother was Bridget Conway formerly Maguire
Patrick Kevany was the occupier (?manager) of the workhouse.
All the male names are Patrick!
