Emma Shaw

Can anybody read the entry on Monday 4th December for Emma Short - what is her calling? She has presumably gone into the workhouse to give birth to her daughter as Infant Short (baby girl) is born the same day. The surname is actually Shaw, but I have the birth certificate with Anne being born in the Mint Street Workhouse on this date so have no doubt they just misheard (not surprising if she was in labour!) If attachment is hard to see the original can be found in Ancestry, London, England, Workhouse Admittance and Discharge Records 1659 - 1930. Southwark, St George's Workhouse Mint Street Register 1876 - 1877
Thanks

Brush making was also a trade taught to the visually impaired back in the day. I have a semi-blind relative who was a brush drawer for many years.
