Birth of Maria Palmer (nee Bell) c.1798 - 1867

Trying to trace a birth for Maria Palmer (nee Bell) born c.1798. The records I have largely suggest birth in Gibraltar.

Details I have are as follows:

Marriage in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland (All Saints)
10 Apr 1819 Charles Palmer married Maria Bell (both of the parish) by banns
Witnesses: Jonathan Scott, John Thompson

1841 census - Hebburn, Jarrow: Marria [sic] Palmer aged 40 born in county, living with husband Charles a coal miner and seven children.

1851 census - New Square, Monkwearmouth, Sunderland - Maria Palmer aged 53 (so birth year c.1798) birth place Gibraltar (British Subject) living with husband Charles and two children.

1861 census - 17 Stobarts Building, Monkwearmouth - Maria Palmer aged 64 (so birth year c.1797) birth place Gibraltar (British Subject) living with husband, daughter, grandson and boarder.

Death record in 1867 for Maria (aged 71) in Durham district. I do not have the certificate but it is likely to be her, by time of 1871 census husband Charles is living with one of their daughters and cited as widower.

I have checked the Find My Past British Nationals Armed Forces Births data set, there is one birth for a Maria Bell in Gibraltar however having ordered the certificate this is not the correct Maria.
Does anyone have any other ideas as to how else I may be able to trace Maria's birth or her parents?
Many thanks for any help anyone can offer me

The Gibraltar National Archives website: www.nationalarchives.gi/gna/Contact.aspx may be worth trying. Have a go at the search box first, and if no luck, hopefully the contact page will be useful.

Thank you. I have been able to find another Bell born in the same period as Maria in Gibraltar (possibly a sibling?) but no baptisms yet. Will try contact the office as suggested too. Thanks again

Thank you Adrian, sadly the wiki 'how to find' BMD links contain no information and of the research tool links only the Rootsweb mailing list and cemetery ones work. The Southern Europe Research Facebook community looks good though, i will join and see where I can go from here.

*Edit* Perhaps I should have scrolled right and seen the other links - the record finder link is hopefully going to help me progress with this query!
