Birth Certificate

Postby arakan » Fri Jul 28, 2017 8:12 am

Hi
I am stuck with finding the birth certificate for my Great Great Grandfather Robert Johnstone who was born in Canonbie, Dumfires, Scotland on the 24 th April 1848. I have tried Edinburgh, who can not find any record. Does anyone know if Canonbie or surrounding areas or parishes ( where most of my relatives are from ) keep any records as I am planning a trip to Scotland in the near future. As Johnstone or Johnston are common names in this area I have managed to find further relatives on the tree but I can not be certain until I can confirm this birth. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You
David Johnstone

Hi,I have many ancestors in that area and have found the people at Dumfries and Galloway family history society very helpful. Try contacting them, I'm sure they could help. They have a wesite,
