What happened to the Cassells and Mahon?

Postby stefano » Mon Jul 24, 2017 9:10 am

Cecilia Cassell is my third great grandmother.
Well I believe her brother was William Cassell who married an Elizabeth Mcquirk/Lambert.
They had three girls called Rachel and Margaret who were twins born 13 November 1874 and Catherine born 23 November 1875. I am looking to see what happened to them, marriages, deaths. Also did Robert Mahon and Sarah Castles have any children, they married in 1850.

Robert Mahon married Sarah Castles 19/7/1850 St Thomas, Dublin. Her father Morgan Castles.
William Cassels, father Morgan Cassels, married Elizabeth/Eliza McGuirk 18/4/1865, Ashford, Rathdrum, Wicklow, her father Joseph Lambert. Seems to confirm William and Sarah were siblings.

There are two Maguire nieces with them in 1901, but there are Maguire grandchildren in 1911, including Josephine again (from their ages they both might be the same girls)

Another daughter Mary in 1911!

And the Informant on the death certificate of a William Cassells, tailor, who died 8 September 1921, Dublin, age 78, was Elizabeth McGuire.
Could she be the Elizabeth Castles who married Patrick McGuire, 6 February 1894, Rathdrum?
Father William Castles, Tailor. Witnessed by Catherine Castles.

Death of a Rachel Cassell, 27 January 1949, Dublin
Age 72, Single, Shop assnt
Informant Margaret Cassell, Sister
Rachel's place of death and Margaret's address are the same.

Occupation ties in with those two census returns.

Death of a Margaret Cassell, 3 March 1953, Dublin
Age 78, Single
Informant Josephine Cumming (or Cummins?)

Could that be her niece?
Josephine McGuire, father Patrick McGuire, deceased
+
William Cummins
married 12 January 1921, Dublin
