John William woodman

Postby Cmcquade » Wed Jun 14, 2017 2:16 pm

I'm searching for my grandad John William Woodman. According to his death certificate he was born 24th December 1913,Richmond ,Surrey. He lived in ham,Richmond with his wife Janet woodman m.s bedward. Was Langdon. Died 12th Jan 1970 ,Hounslow. He had two daughters and a son Beverley,Barbara and Allen. And three step children from Janet's previous marriage. On their marriage certificate it says his father was also John William woodman (master builder) deceased. I can't seem to find much about him. Apparently he served in ww2, but I can't find any records. Can anyone help?

Just across the A316 from Richmond is this birth at Brentford
March 1919 John W Woodman Brentford vol 3a page 123. Mothers surname Smith
It seems to be the nearest one to the date on FreeBMD.
The East Surrey Regt barracks were on the Richmond Road at the Kingston end. That would be a strong possibility for records.
