Ada Jesamine Smith

Postby janmlawson » Fri May 26, 2017 11:03 am

I wonder if anyone could help me track the birth record of Ada Jesamine Smith. She was born about 1885 in Broughton Hackett. She married Richard Harris 30 Apr 1905 at St. Mary, Harrow, England. Smith is such a common name and, after fruitless attempts to find a birth record, I even wonder if she was really called Ada Jesamine. Good luck everybody!

Looking at the marriage record I see that Ada named her father as Samuel Smith, a farm labourer.

I tried to find Ada in a family setting in 1891 but although there were several Ada Smiths with father Samuel, they were mostly in Staffordshire and Samuel was not a farm or ag lab.

Looking at birth registrations, could she be
SMITH Ada Pershore 6c 351 whose birth was registered in the Dec qtr of 1886?
Pershore Registration district takes in Broughton Hackett.

Hiya. Just tried the new GRO births index search. This is so useful. The above 1886 Pershore Ada Smith's mothers maiden name is Rachall.

Thank you all so much. I will look at the information and put it into the tree. It has confounded me for years.

The Smith are still very elusive but the Rachel part of the tree was very 'fruitful'. Thanks again.
