DAVY AND KEARNS FAMILIES OF DUBLIN.

Postby kiwilong » Tue May 23, 2017 11:11 pm

Hello all, greetings from New Zealand.
My wife, born Annie Mary Davy in County Louth in 1937 has lost all contact with her Irish roots.
Although Annie was born as stated all her other siblings, parents and grandparents were born in South Dublin.
Her father was Augustine John Davy and her mother Hannah Mary (Margaret) Kearns both born in 1897.
Annie's parents and family relocated to the UK in 1937 and are now spread around the world.
Annie must have a large number of "cousins" in the Dublin area and it seems to me that possibly some at least may welcome contact with their far flung cousins.
We have researched the family back to the mid 1800's so far but would welcome further genealogical information.
Regards.

There is one family tree matching your wife's ancestors on Ancestry.com.

Thank you MayHam for your post.
The tree you have seen is the perfect example of the danger of copying info from other peoples trees and adding same to yours without checking and researching the info.
I contacted the tree owner some years ago to explain that her James Price Kearns born 1870 in Pennsylvania was not my wifes James Kearns born 1861 in Ireland.
The lady agreed to correct her tree and delete my wifes family from her it. Clearly she has not bothered to do so.
This sloppy name collecting by some people is really disappointing.
Thanks again for your interest.
