What happened to George Flint

Postby FlintK » Wed Apr 05, 2017 11:06 am

Hello,
Can anyone help me find George Flint please . Born 1859 appears on 1861 census in Mickleham Surrey and 1871 in Dorking Surrey and then appears to disappear. He is not the George on the 1881 census in Reigate Surrey married to Ellen.
Thanks for any help.
Kevin.

Is this is a possibility?
Registers at Sea of British Citizens: G.Flint, aged 20, Surrey, last residence London, died 8/2/1879 (b1859) of yellow fever, ship Ocean Swell.
It's been transcribed on ancestry as G.Flent, but the image shows Flint.

The servicemen you refer to shown as born 1856 could be the George Flint, b '56 in Dorking, son of George and Rebecca, or the George Flint b1856 in Dorking, s/o George and Sarah. There's also a George Flint b1856 in Dorking, a lodger, unmarried, living in Reigate in 1881, occupation locomotive engine cleaner (your George's father was a farm labourer in 1861, but a railway worker in 1871).
