Betsy Waters - Yorkshire birth

Postby Karen196 » Fri Mar 10, 2017 6:07 pm

Hi, hoping someone can help locate the birth record of my 3xGreat Grandmother.

According to the 1881 census she was born in Hull. The marriage certificate states her father is called George Waters and he was a Sailor.

Her age is noted as 28 at the marriage in 1875 putting her birth around 1847.

Would be grateful for any help, I've been searching for ages to no avail

Thanks, Karen

Yes, well spotted Ianbee. I've got the marriage record now and I think the Hull, Yorkshire as the birth on the 1881 census may be a mistake. I've searched literally everywhere for a christening record of a Betsy to a father called George to no avail. Also checked Lancashire and Yorkshire bmd's with 2 years either side.

Also the marriage cert states she was a spinster and William was a widow. I've found William's other two marriages either side of the one to my 3x Gt Gm.
