Marriage certificate query

Postby oscar64 » Sun Feb 19, 2017 4:11 pm

Can anyone help explain this entry on a marriage certificate
" married in the parish according to the rites and ceremonies of the established church". Date of marriage is 20th sept 1904. Also where was Marton in Cleveland.

Thanks

Marton in Cleveland..... put into Google and it says a dormitory suburb of Middlesbrough. Built around 1950's.

That is the standard wording used for a CofE church wedding.

Marton in Cleveland is just to the south of Middlesbrough.

Thanks. I haven't seen this written on other certificates.
