Payne marriage c1826, Derbyshire

Postby katebenn » Mon Jan 23, 2017 3:33 pm

My ancestor William Payne was baptised 1785 at Mickleover, Derbyshire & married an Ann C1826 possibly in Mickleover or nearby parish. I can't find any details of this marriage; Ann died 1869 in Mickleover aged 86 although in 1871 census she was aged 73!
Does anyone know more than I do please?

According to the 1851 census, Ann was born in Efford, Warwickshire. This is close to Lichfield and not too many miles from West Bromwich. The only marriage I can find that fits in any way to Ann and William is:
Ann Harvey spinster = William Payne bachelor - All Saints West Bromwich, Staffordshire. Date: 9th August, 1826. Witnesses were Hannah Woodhall and William Martin. The bride could not write and signed with her mark.
Hope it is of some help.
