Just what I said earlier.

Eliza is mentioned. Isabella is mentioned as "illegitimate" daughter. No mention of Frederick. And weirdly a mention of to my what looks like "hoo" illegitimate sons, John Neal and James Neal, the children of my dear wife before marriage

I already knew Isabella. I was surprised there was no Frederick since he was in the 1871 census and the other two surprised me.

Any suggestions on how to go about looking for these illegitimate boys?

Honestly they seem like common names...

I've put a 5 year span between 1850-1860.

Since Frederick was born about 1860, I'm not sure why he wasn't mentioned.

I'm going back looking at her mother's 2nd family in the censuses. But I don't have 1851 or 1861 census for her as of yet so I have to go back and look at a few things.

It's very challenging. If it weren't so expensive to order Birth records on a hunch, I would definitely consider it. That being said I'm looking at all possibilities.

Currently I'm trying to figure out if they were in a workhouse prior to 1861 because I have no record of Eliza in 1851 or 1861.

Eliza and John Horne Clark obviously had an affair based on his first marriage and the birth of her 2 last children.

Also checking Workhouses for Eliza Neal in Kensington. Trying to see if she lived there in the missing census years.

Hi
Perhaps Eliza might have been living under another name in 1861 -
Possibility -

Parish - Fulham
Salem Place
Eliza Duncombe Wife Married 28 Confectioner, born Hants Portsmouth
John Duncombe Son 6 Hants Anstey
Frederick Duncombe Son 1 Middlesex Fulham
Martha Rowall Visitor 12 Scholar Surrey Farnham

Not much sign of Frederick Duncombe apart from that census
However -
(England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975)
Name: John Duncombe
Gender: Male
Baptism Date: 23 Dec 1854

Double baptism!
Name: James Duncombe
Gender: Male
Baptism Date: 23 Dec 1854
Baptism Place: Holybourne, Hampshire

Possible birth registrations, looks like the baptisms were of twins!

Duncombe, John
mother's maiden surname Neale

Dec 1854 Alton 2c 117

Well I overlooked that. I looked at it years ago and I couldn't figure out who's child he was. It never occurred to me she changed the surname.

This has opened up some many avenues. Now to see if "Harry Duncombe" existed lol. I found James in 1871 living with his Aunt Charlotte (Eliza's sister).

Salem Rd was where Eliza and John Clark lived.
