McGill - Scotland ? Ireland ?

Postby MrBluesman72 » Thu Dec 08, 2016 12:48 pm

Hi, I wonder if anyone could help with a brick wall I have hit in researching my Great Grandmother. Here goes.
1901 UK Census - Minnie White Born in Scotland
- her first child (Agnes) was born in Ireland 1890 the rest born in Manchester Eng.
Birth Certificates of her children show different ways of spelling surname MacGill, McGill , Magill
I have found a Marriage Certificate in Ireland to my Great Grandfather (William) shows her first name as Mary and not Minnie and her fathers name is John - Agnes is not Williams Daughter.
1911 Census - Minnie White Born Falkirk, Stirlingshire, Scotland
1939 records give her DOB as 20 Feb 1873 but I have been unable to find this in either Scotland or Ireland.
I do know she gave birth to her daughter Agnes in the workhouse in Belfast Ireland

I have never been able to trace her birth can anyone help or advise?

Thank You
