I have not really been able to research the Ashe line as it is fairly new to me and the tree. My grandfather had told me that he had legally changed his name to DuFresne, but never got to tell me from what. He had done some research and wanted to let me have the research, but it was lost in one of his moves.

My grandfather DuFresne was an Optometrist and my grandmother was a licensed sociologist.

That is about all I know of my mother's side of the family tree.

Just a bit of an update on this post. I was able to get a chance to look at the 1920 Census records and did find my maternal grandfather listed as Louis To Ashe in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I am fairly certain that this is him as his half sisters are listed and the birth place is correct for both.

Thanks to everyone for helping me with this.
