What happened to George Chilvers?

Postby myrtlebird8 » Fri Nov 25, 2016 9:29 pm

George Chilvers of Kirkley, Suffolk was mate of the 'onward'. While it was docked at Hartlepool in 1876, it is written in the ships log that he died. However there is no death certificate either in the usual registers or in Deaths at Sea. Can anyone suggest why, and how can I find out more?
