Irish records are split up by area so you need to tackle the "where" question pretty soon. Suggest that you take several cups of coffee and go throughhttp://www.irish-genealogy-toolkit.com/ for a start. Take it slowly and don't panic.

Ireland records

The WDYTYA magazine has a "30-Minute Genealogist" section. In this month's issue (November), Sara Khan explains how to use irishgenealogy.ie. This is a free site. I tried it last evening and found a birth I've struggled to find for a long time. If you do not have the magazine to see the article, you have to go through a couple of 'anti-phishing' sections ( whatever they are!) first but then it is easy to work through. I was able to see the actual images of documents. Hope that is of help. However, l'm not sure yet what the full range is of the records available.

Try Rootschat.

Very helpful indeed.

I found the marriage of my 3x great grandparents due to a wonderful lady taking it upon herself to do a search for me...she didn't ask if she could do research for me and found this marriage and about four baptisms for their children.
I was delighted because I was having much difficulties and Evelyn (based in Ireland) found all this wonderful family history for me...I was searching for years.

Happy searching...I hope you find what you're searching for.

Kind regards,

Pete.
