Ancestry website - problems?

Postby JaneyH » Fri Oct 21, 2016 5:14 pm

Is anyone having difficulties accessing Ancestry's UK site this evening (Friday 21 October)?

I've had no luck either via Chrome or IE10 browsers, and searching within FTM2014 won't work either. I've rebooted the laptop, run broadband test etc and everything appears to be OK.

It's so frustrating as I've got a free evening!!!

Ancestry has just posted the following on Facebook (19:07, BST) -

"Our DNS provider has experienced a DDoS attack which has resulted in some service issues to our website, and many others. We are working as quickly as possible to resolve this issue. Please be assured that this is an availability issue only, and does not impact the confidentiality or integrity of customer data. We appreciate everyone’s patience."
