1841 Census piece number for Folksworth, Hunts

Postby Mick Loney » Thu Sep 29, 2016 9:29 am

I am trying to locate the Bailey family, who were living in Folksworth,Huntingdonshire in 1841.
Their daughter Elizabeth was born there in 1839, and their son John was born there in 1842, so I deduce they were there in 1841.

Not having found them by searching, I thought I'd browse Folksworth in 1841 on Findmypast, but it doesn't seem to exist!

I have checked the 1841 missing returns list, and Folksworth is not on it.

Does anyone know what piece numbers covered Folksworth in 1841 - I've searched for an index, but can't find one.

1841 Census piece number for Folksworth, Hunts

Ian,
You beat me to it :)
I just just discovered how to get to browse Folksworth, and on first page of browsing, found the family straight away, I then had to pop out before I could update my post.

Findmypast certainly don't make it easy, I tried restricting search to Folksworth, but it wasn't in their list of towns to filter on!
Thanks for the effort.

Mike

Indeed that's the way it used to be done before it was put online. The National Archives catalogue (Discovery) should be a first stop.
