Thanks Ianbee, i think the first child and the third you list are correct but do not think the middle one is, it seems odd that he always lists himself as Pocketbook maker and when George & Mary Ann are born he is living in Marsh and yet the middle one he is a cabinet maker and abode is Maidstone, but thanks your great help has helped me add another relative that i knew nothing about. just wish i could prove that the parents were from Coventry

Hiya.
The 1810 and 1813 births seem to rule out my idea of 1816 marriage back in Coventry.
The middle baptism has other differences - just has 'Mary' as mothers name - and their surname is same - to give it even less ticks. the other two are different surnames, so perhaps No marriage ?
Although middle one's dates would tie in with the Coventry marriage.
But I'd like to see someone calculate the odds on those names Rawes Parker happening twice.
Cheers. Jim

your right as they were already mr & Mrs Parker in 1814 in London that would make it seem unlikely that they then went off and married in Coventry in 1816, bugger back to the drawing board. if anyone has any ideas Please Please Please share them as i really am at a loss... :( :(

If i can find the marriage then this would hopefully give me the father of each and help give me a clue...

Just had a thought. Brother and sister of our Coventry roots, married, then had a son James who married in 1816. Jim

but what about the kids, 1810, 1813 & 1817, can't see how this works with the 1810 one??

There is a James Parker Marries a Mary Ann Stalled in 1814 the year the two youngest get baptised but the marriage is in Chelsea and all three baptism's are in Lambeth

or A James Parker marries Mary Ann Lake in Southwark but again that is 1816??

The Coventry one certainly seems to make a sort of sense but do not know how to make sure....

My explanation would be - James Parker (say he's the cabinet maker) married Mary Thave in Coventry 1816. Same church as his christening and his parents marriage.
If his parents had met at a family wedding, there could already be a Rawes Parker couple. Not unheard of for the brother of groom and sister of bride to meet and marry.
This earlier couple had son James who became James Rawes Parker the pocketbook maker who met Mary Ann.
Although looking again at the 1st and 3rd baptism records, parents they are quoting James Rawes and Mary Parker, their surnames are different. Not Mr and Mrs 'James Rawes Parker'.... Confused ????
Was this a typo ianbee ? Jim

George & Mary Ann's parents are definitely James Rawes & Mary Ann Parker, the other slightly off track but interesting piece is the James Rawes Parker that sold the books & that was a partner with Robertson in 1819 was also Lower Marsh, cannot think how many James Rawes & Mary Ann Parkers there could be in this place and time

Hiya. So what connects him to William Henry born 1819 to James Raws and Mary Ann Parker , note that he'd be using his mother's surname. Was his father's name and occupation on his marriage certificate ?
