Hannah Maria Burroughs Hacon details.

Postby midshipman » Sun Jul 10, 2016 9:55 pm

Hannah Maria Burroughs Hacon was the daughter of James Hacon 1784-1845 and Elizabeth Hacon nee Burroughs 1783-1839.
Hannah was domiciled and baptised in Great Yarmouth 13th September 1814 and possibly married in 1847.
At one time there was an excellent Hacon family tree website published online by the Florida branch of the family. Sadly it became infected with a virus and is no longer contactable.
Can any member please help with Hannah's marriage or death details?

There is a marriage for a Hannah Hacon in 1847, Jun qtr, Mutford, vol.13, p.719
Another marriage in 1852, in Ipswich vol.4a p.858 for a Hannah Hacon.
From Familysearch I think this is the 1847 marriage:
Name James Fisk
Spouse's Name Hannah Hacon
Event Date 27 Apr 1847
Event Place Lowestoft, Suffolk, England
Father's Name Job Fisk
Spouse's Father's Name James ...

However, when I find Hannah and James Fisk on the 1851 census, her birthplace is recorded as Barsham, Suffolk, so you have to doubt that it is the right person.

Thank you for your input.
Sadly don't believe the 1847 marriage is my Hannah.

There's a marriage for Maria Hannah Hacon, age 36, & Charles Kollakisvsky 3 Dec 1846 at All Souls Church, Marylebone. The bride's father is listed as James Hacon, school master.
Could this be your lady?

Thank you.
Sadly I do not know father James' occupation. Will check out possible marriage info you kindly provided.

Did you ever watch Len Goodman's WDYTYA episode? He was descended from a Polish military exile. There was a group of Polish exiles arrived in UK in 1840'ish and settling, marrying local women. Wondered if Charles Kollakisvsky was one?

James Hacon was a baker.
There are two baptisms of a Hannah Maria Hacon in Great Yarmouth, parents James and Elizabeth.
Hannah Maria bap 4 July 1807, born 2 July 1807 - mother's maiden name Burroughs
Hannah Maria Burroughs bap 13 Sept 1814 - father a Baker
Interestingly, re the first baptism, most of the entries on that page seem to be private baptisms.

But it could be a puzzle. I can't see any burial indexed of Hannah Maria baptized 1807.
Whereas, for example, Nicholas Hook baptized the same day, also two days old, son of Daniel and Ann nee Smith seems to have been buried 13 Feb 1808.

Two Robert Hacon baptisms in Great Yarmouth, parents James and Elizabeth
Robert Hacon baptized 3 January 1810, born 2 Jan, mother nee Burroughs, baptism was private
Robert Burroughs Hacon baptized 20 May 1812, born 18 May, mother nee Burroughs. Again, like nearly all of them, says it was private.

Burials for both Robert Hacons at St Nicholas, in 1811 and 1812.

I did indeed see that episode. Having had another look at the marriage certificate Charles' occupation is "artist". However his father was a "Colonel (deceased)".

As I said earlier, James Hacon was a Baker
See also the marriage - or remarriage - of his son Henry in Yarmouth in 1858
Norfolk Parish Registers are available on Family Search, Findmypast

James Hacon the schoolmaster is in Swaffham, Norfolk in 1841. Also in the household is a Maria Hacon, 30.
