Thomas Henry Marshall of Great Yarmouth.

Can any member please help me discover more about my great grand uncle Thomas Henry Marshall born October 1851 in Great Yarmouth.
His parents were Thomas Henry Marshall 1831-1916 and Lydia Ann nee Armstrong 1830-1915 both of Great Yarmouth.
Thomas served in the Royal Naval Reserve and had the service number 128.
He married Emma Patience Penn, born 1850 in Hempnall, Norfolk. She later remarried Alfred Neal 1846-1932 but not until 1903. They appear to have been a couple for several years before this marriage and having a child in 1894.
I surmise that Thomas and Emma separated and later when he died she was then free to remarry Alfred Neal.
There is a family tree for the Marshall clan on the Internet but doesn't cover Thomas in detail. Ideally I would like to discover his death details but being a fisherman he might not of stayed in the Great Yarmouth area.

Been rooting around census forms and worryingly found 1881 family entry of parents and my Thomas is shown as unmarried.

Thomas Henry certainly married Emma Patience in 1871, so perhaps it just didn't work out and he went back to his family. If that happened very quickly, is it possible he regarded himself as not married, so that's what was reported to the census enumerator in 1881? Have you found Emma in that census?

Not found wife Emma on a census as Emma Marshall. She is on later censuses as Emma Neal before and after her marriage to Alfred Neal.

Have you tried local newspapers? I have a couple of ancestors who married and quickly separated. I found local newspapers carrying an advert stating that John Smith of High St, Hull would no longer bare responsibility for his wife Ethel Smith, neé Jones. These had been placed by a local solicitor. (I've used general names).
It's worth noting these ancestors were also fishermen and I do know there was a lot of drinking and domestic trouble because of this in my extended family of fisherfolk.

Many thanks sdup26, coopernicola, Ianbee for your input.
Thomas and Emma definitely separated and her marriage in 1903 points to Thomas dying before then. I wonder if he died at sea.

Unfortunately, Deaths At Sea 1781-1968 (findmypast) just gives a name and year. The only Thomas Henry Marshall I can see is dated 1917, when your man would have been about 66, and in any case, is a few years after Emma remarried. Or there's a Thomas Marshall 1897 (no middle name). I can't find anything in British Nationals Died Overseas either, so altogether, not very helpful I'm afraid.

Thanks to you sdup26 one door closes and another opens.....
Went to local library and accessed Find My Past website.
Found Thomas Henry Marshall details but not a death. He was jailed for bigamy, marrying Miriam Bone in Norwich 16th February 1887. Taken into custody 16th July 1888 after previously being bailed and sentenced to 6 months hard labour. It even mentions he has a living wife who he married in 1871.
