Hi, my Nan passed this brooch down to me when I was
10 years old. Unfortunately at the time, I didn't ask her anything about it. My Nan sadly passed away when I was 13 and I've often wondered about it. I realise it's a long shot for anyone to know anything about it but if anyone can help i'd really appriciate it

One for the 'Antiques Roadshow' maybe? ;)
The pendant is probably rock crystal (quartz), though could just be glass. Have you looked closely at the back of the brooch and pendant mount, maybe with a magnifying glass to see if there are any makers marks etc?

Just a suggestion. I have a very unusual brooch too that was given to me by my grandmother. A friend suggested I look on eBay to see if there were any similar items for sale that could give me a clue to the origins of my brooch. There were several items that helped prod me in the right direction. My brooch turns out to be French and probably made in the 1920s.
