Frank Wright 1909-1960(?) Middlesbrough

Postby mwtinyworld1 » Sun Feb 21, 2016 9:01 pm

Hi

I've hit a brick wall. I can't find any death records for Frank Wright, my grandfather, who lived in Middlesbrough. The best lead I have suggests he died in 1960. I have checked freeBMD and tees alley-archives, but nothing. I am pretty sure he was in Wakefield in 1939 but can't find anything after that. Can anyone suggest where I might find a lead?

Wife: Agnes Ann Wright (Griffin) 1909-1967

Thanks
Matthew

Findmypast have all the death indexes on line. There is no death in 1960 which corresponds to a birth in 1909.

Unfortunately using this source neither can I confirm Agnes Ann Wright's death as 1967 - closest is Agnes Wright dying in 1965 in 'Liverpool North'.

The problem may lie with FMP's indexing or my searching, but would help if you would provide source of your information. Do you have a death cert for Agnes and do you know her to have been a widow at the time?

I got all of Agnes' details from teesvalley archives who were great and confirmed all the details (if I gave the right answers first). Unfortunately I have nothing concrete to go on so they can't help with Frank's death certificate.

So many questions can be answered by obtaining readily available documents.

If you had Frank Wright's birth certificate you would know his precise date of birth and be able to locate him in the 1939 register. The only Frank Wright I can spot in Wakefield is shown as Single.

If you has Agnes Wright's death certificate you would know whether or not Frank was still alive at that time. This would help you to locate a death record.

Hi Matthew, I don't know if you have already solved this mystery but I have had someone write in to the magazine who would like to pass on some advice but is having difficulty logging onto the forum. He has found a Frank Wright of 29 Dene Rd, Bradford who died 6 October 1960 at The Royal Infirmary in Bradford, Probate Wakefield 11 November to Lucy Annie Wright, widow. Effects £1619 3s 5d

He found him using the free index here https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/
