The picture below is of my great great grandfather on the annual outing of the Olive Branch group in 1930. I'm trying to work out what this group was and wondered if it rang a bell with anyone.

At this point in time he was living in Birmingham and the last job I have for him was millwright stomper.

A number of the gentleman in the photo appear to be wearing rather leafy boutonnieres if that helps!

many thanks

I believe that the Olive Branch was a pub - see http://www.birminghamforum.co.uk/index.php?PHPSESSID=ded5dcd3f5c689022dccd66d531b207b&topic=1513.517 - the photo in a post by "Phil" on August 22, 2014, 12:33:54 PM, is captioned as "Saltley, Olive Branch, Adderley Road, 1930".

The shape of the etching in the window behind the assembled group can be seen in the photo on the forum - right down to (or up to) the white label "Public Bar".

Thank you, that it was the name of the pub hadn't occurred to me!
