To which WW1 hospital did my ancestor get sent?

Postby Robert Houghton » Thu Jan 14, 2016 4:32 pm

Hi,

Would is anyone able to help me understand how I can find out which WW1 hospital my ancestor would have been sent to when he was injured?

He served in the 21st Middlesex Regiment and was injured some time between October 1917 and the end of the war. The regiment itself was transferred to the 119th Brigade of the 40th Division in February 1918 and then reduced to a training corps in May 1918 due to heavy losses. My ancestor is listed as serving in 21st Middlesex Regiment on his medal card.

Did particular hospitals serve particular regiments or could he have been sent to any of the hospitals nearby?

Thank you in advance for any help and advice anyone can offer.

Do you have his full service record? On two service records I have for family members who were injured in the 1WW, the places where they were treated have been included.
