If anyone is near Kimpton, Hertfordshire, over the next few days, there is a Christmas tree display in the parish church. There are about 30 trees which represent different groups and societies within the village; e.g. Cubs, the school, WI, etc.

The Royal British Legion tree is simple yet very effective. It has been decorated with small presents wrapped in brown paper. Each present has a brown tag addressed to a fallen soldier from each World War. All the soldiers are listed on the Kimpton War Memorial. There is biographical information for each soldier on the reverse of the tags plus a small book with additional information next to the tree.

The British Legion tree is at the tower end of the church if you do get chance to go and see it. The display ends on Sunday January 3rd. The church will be open from 10 - 4 each day until then.

There is no entry charge however donations are welcomed. Normal Sunday services will be taking place. The latest version of the parish magazine provides details:
