Charles Brewer the witness first name?

Certainly looks like Drummer. This could be his first name or possibly he could have been in the army and included that detail. However, I knew someone who had the first name 'Major'. So anything is possible. If the marriage is close to a census date, you could try to find the two witnesses to be sure.

The GRO certificate is a 2nd or 3rd hand copy of the actual register, so if it is important to your research you should get access to the original register entry to see what is on there.

It might be a mis-transcribed version of Drummond perhaps (which is a name you occasionally see) but it may be a Charles Brewer who included his military rank/role as part of his signature.
