Hi
I guess the only way to find out for sure would be to get one of the certificates.
They have some electoral rolls online for East Ham for the years 1964 and 1965. There's a James Farrell and Jessie Farrell listed at 26 Browning Road E12.
It might kind of fit your Jessie, that they were living together prior to the marriage, it's quite a while on from when she was in Berkshire.

An administration for her
Probate Calendar 1978
Farrell, Jessie Mabel of 26 Browning Rd Manor Park London
E12 died 22 April 1977 Administration Nottingham 6 July
£2214

On the free index on Deceased Online -
Jessie Mabel Farrell
cremated 28 April 1977 at Manor Park Crematorium
date of death 22 April

Thank you, it seems like a slim possibility that it could be her, however from tracing her family back it would make her the first to travel so far out of the area, even now we are Hertfordshire and that's only because of my grandad being put into care.
I'm going to see him today with this new information which make jog some more memories for us to investigate.
Unfortunately the name Smith makes it very difficult to track her down!

Perhaps I can use her siblings to help find out? Her brother was Veines James Smith who was in the navy and died 2 May 1919 (I am interested in finding a picture or war story about him if I can) when he went overboard, he was married to a Hilda Brett

Her sister Ellen Beatrice Hawkins was born in 1900 and married to a Wilfred Cox but I can find out nothing about him or her thereafter

Jessie Smith has "disappeared" so hoping Jessie Farrell is a possibility at least. It sounds from what you have said that the children, or some of them, never saw their mother again?
Trying to find out who James Farrell was, unfortunately it seems unlikely he was from Berkshire!
They both died in the same year, the same quarter in fact
June 1977, Newham vol 15 page 1758
Farrell, James
d-o-b 5 March 1903

Curiously, he was doesn't appear to have been cremated or buried at Manor Park
Probate for him, a will this time, same address so certainly him
Will this link work?

I haven't seen anything on the possible stabbing incident

Thank you, it seems like it could be her, particularly with the middle names and birth dates matching... the only other option is perhaps this that my dad found on ancestry, it matches the Surrey area and she was a widow by this time, however I can't find any official death records to match this obituary?

Scratch that, I researched that obituary further and that Jessie was born in 1896, looking like Farrell is a strong possibility now!

Do you know the specific date of the farrell's wedding, trying to request a marriage certificate for more information but can't without the full date

Hi, you don't need the exact date
Only the year, quarter, volume and page number

So, marriage of Jessie M Smith
March quarter 1966
volume 5b, page 539

You could delay ordering it for a bit if you think anything else might turn up, but that's all you need. Will keep looking

Hi where would you order it from them? I'm on the gov website and it's asking for dd/mm/yyyy format? Sorry I'm still new at all of this!

Hi
Order it here
http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

You need to register first
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/cert ... Individual

Don't be tempted to order from anywhere else. It should cost £9.25
More info here
