Hope you can help - I have asked various researchers, and no one seems to give me an answer!!
My Great Uncle, Michael Joseph Leonard, a Rifleman in Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, born in Ireland, 1889, died 1st May 1915 of Phthisis in Trimulgherry, India - Service Number 9838. Would there be a Death Certificate for him? If so where could I get it? I would appreciate any assistance please.

As you have a date and place of death/burial, am guessing that you may have got this from the India Office Record collection. This may be all there is. I didn't find him listed in the indexes to British Nationals Armed FOrces deaths overseas.

GRO Ireland

https://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/GRO_Research.aspx

"Deaths of Irish officers and enlisted persons killed in action or who died while serving abroad in The Great War (WW1) 1914 - 1919"

I doubt that the certificate will tell you any more than you already know.
