Three Unknown Cousins

Postby warpo » Mon Jun 29, 2015 11:13 pm

Hi all sorry to bother you,

Im looking for three mysterious people.

My step fathers cousin Evelyn E Wrath died 2013/2014, her obituary mentioned three cousins - Pauline; Marlene and June (surnames not stated). I cannot for the life of me figure out where these people come from.

i'll try to explain:

In 1896 Charles Wrath (1876-1901) married Edith Lambley (1877-1932).
They had two children Bertram Wrath (1898-1960) and Sydney Wrath (1901-1956)

When Charles Wrath died, Edith went on to marry John George Adamson (1881-1958). Edith and John had a daughter called Edith May Adamson (1909-1956). Edith May is my step fathers mother, and he is an only child.

In 1924 Sydney Wrath married Eva V A Lee and together they had my step fathers cousin Evelyn E Wrath.

Evelyn's father was Sydney Wrath, so as my step father was an only child, the only possibility of Evelyn having cousins by the name of Pauline, Marlene and June would be from Bertram Wrath.

As for Bertram, if I have it right he married an Elizabeth Fryer, but the only child I can see they had was a Doreen O Wrath.

Bertram and Sydney were both born and passed away at Basford, Nottinghamshire, England

I hope i've been helpful with my explanation, it's the best I got.

Hope somebody can help me please,
Dean

I don't want to be a wet blanket but it sounds like there's every possibility that one or more of these people is still alive. I'm not sure what the official policy is on this forum in relation to living people, but I regret to say that I don't believe that we should be discussing them.

I understand what you are saying and if it does violate I completely apologise and request it be deleted.

My step father didn't know he had the two uncles Sydney and bertram until I started the tree and it was too late for him to be in touch with his long lost cousin Evelyn. He's asked me to find his link to these three cousins he never knew of.

If I was wrong posting I'm sorry.

They could be more distant cousins, rather than first cousins, so it may be worth looking a generation back and then working forward from there.

Couldn't the cousins be on the Lee side of the family , or have I missed the point somewhere ?

Lee would have married Wrath so I pressumed they would have the same surname

Hi Colin is asking why can't the cousins be maternal. You don't have their surnames so if Eva Lee, who married Sidney, had brothers or sisters then any of their children would also be cousins.
Edited: I should have added "of Evelyn" to theend of my post.

This must be Eva V A Lee : Eva Victoria A Lee b 1901 Basford.

1911 census

John Higgs Lee 41
Kate Lee 39
Eva Victoria Annie Lee 10
Kate Elizabeth Lee 6
John Lee 5
Alfred Lee 1
living in Netherfield , Notts.

The children of any of these siblings of Eva would be cousins of Evelyn.
