Dead Man's Penny goes home

Postby phsvm » Tue Jun 23, 2015 5:17 pm

I thought you might be interested to see this which I was so pleased to be able to be a part of. I love a challenge so when our local paper ran the story originally I couldn't resist trying to track down Aubrey's family. ... is_family/

One thing did puzzle all of us however. The original news report and this one both state "It is believed he had inflammation of the intestines after being captured by Ottoman forces and held as a prisoner of war." but neither the family, the Warnes nor I have any idea where this came from. Is this just guess work by the reporter (who really only got all his other information from us) or could there be evidence for this?
