what regiment? arthur burbage

Postby nenchad04 » Fri May 22, 2015 7:04 pm

Can anyone help me identify the regiment of these soldiers. The one on the front left is Arthur Burbage born in 1909 in littleborough lancashire. We know he was a driver in the 2nd world war and served in Egypt, but we can not find anything relating to his military career so far.

Thanks in advance

The cap badge looks very similar to that of the Royal Engineers .But its too indistinct to be certain.

I have a photo of my Grandad in front of that very same monument! He served with the R.A.S.C, the badge looks similar to his one although uncertain for sure.

If he was a driver, the RASC would be his likely regiment.

But really you're not going to find much online for WW2 because service records have not yet been released by MoD.

You need to apply to MoD for his service record. His full name and full date and place of birth will probably be enough to apply.
